BROKE'N; an odd Messiah
Physical theatre, dance, music and video art about a fallen angel.
In Korhan Basaran's new play, Nico Dorigatti tells of the pain of a broken world as a metaphorical fallen angel. Moving, disturbing and speechless.
A variety of artistic forms of expression merge to create a unique theatrical experience that goes beyond language. A figure appears as a metaphor for a fallen angel with broken wings: a biblical presence that bears witness to injustice and violence and carries urgent messages born of grief, resilience and the search for meaning in broken times.
Korhan Basaran returns to the Wortwiege Festival after Dido - Queen of Carthage with a character he first brought to life years ago. In collaboration with Nico Dorigatti and Ataman Girisken, he reinterprets that figure against the backdrop of the contemporary world.
