2026 / An Original Contemporary Theater Piece

A Trojan Tale

A Trojan Tale had its world premiere on Friday, 13 February 2026, at the Ali Cem Köroğlu Stage of the 100th Anniversary Republic Cultural Centre in Ankara, Türkiye, as a production of Etimesgut Municipality City Theatre.

All is ash. All is silent.

Violence—an inescapable part of human nature.

From the earliest traces of history to the present day, humanity has tried to bring violence under control, yet has never truly succeeded. It has become almost systematized: an act carried out knowingly, even while witnessing the harm inflicted upon another.

Violence has never disappeared from humanity’s journey; it has never truly diminished. It may have changed form from time to time, but it has always endured as a self-proclaimed right of those who consider themselves superior to others.

A Trojan Tale, unfortunately, speaks of something far from unfamiliar to our own time. The delusion of “being superior”—something humankind, still unfinished in its evolution, has yet to rid itself of—builds a bridge between the suffering of today and the suffering of antiquity.

This performance is the silent scream of women who bury mourning, grief, desolation, helplessness, and all their sorrow deep within their hearts before setting sail toward destinies that were never theirs to choose—women who, like the cities burned to ash behind them, slowly turn to grey.
